What is a Virtual Bookkeeper?
And how does one benefit you?

A virtual bookkeeper is someone who works remotely, utilizing current technologies and the internet to complete tasks such as recording, classifying, & posting transactions, reconciling account balances, customizing your chart of accounts, financial reporting, and more in order to provide you with an accurate picture of your financial situation and assist with tax compliance.

Virtual bookkeeping is not location-dependent, we offer our services to clients across Canada.

  • I already have a CAP or tax preparer. Do I need a bookkeeper?
Your CPA or tax preparer advises you on tax matters and helps you file your taxes. Your bookkeeper enters and classifies your transactions and provides up to date financial reports. Bookkeepers accurately reflect the state of your business, which is helpful to you for making business decisions, and helpful to your CPA/tax preparer at tax time. In some cases, your CPA will act as your bookkeeper; while charging you double, or sometimes triple, of what we charge. Organized books make the life of your CPA/ tax preparer much easier, allowing them to focus on the tax aspects of your business and save you money as a result.
  • Why not hire an on-site bookkeeper instead?
Outsourcing your bookkeeping needs has become a cost-effective move. On-site bookkeepers require office space & furniture, a computer, employee taxes/benefits and administrative support. While on-site bookkeepers cost around $40,000 or more a year, a virtual bookkeeper will cost you a fraction of that depending on the services contracted
  • What industries do you serve?
I specialize in serving small and medium sized service-based businesses. Some of our clients are auditors, property managers, hair-stylists, home and business services (handymen, electricians, plumbers, etc), and farmers. During the Discovery Call process, I will learn about your business and specific industry and let you know if I am able to help.
  • What bookkeeping software do you support?
    I specialize in QuickBooks Online.
  • How do you access my accounting software?
I will have "Accountant Access" to your QuickBooks Online account.
  • How do I get my sensitive data to you?
Most documents will be shared through a Google Drive folder that only myself and you have access to. Receipts, invoices, and bills will be uploaded through Dext or QBO. Your bank feed will be connected to QBO. Most banks are able to connect with no issue, there are some that don't and you will have to share the .CSV file via Google Drive
  • How much do you charge for your services?
I do not charge by the hour. By providing a fixed price upfront, you won't have to worry about any surprise bills. We offer a variety of packages to meet your needs depending where you are in your business journey. Regular monthly bookkeeping prices are based on a variety of factors such as the size of your business, the number of bank and credit card accounts you have, the average number of transactions you do each month, and other factors such as additional services needed (ie. Advisory Meeting, Accounts Receivable, Custom Reports, etc.). Pricing for catch-up work is based on the number of months of backlog and the extent of the clean-up. All prices are customized based on your goals and business after conducting an Accounting File Health Check. I encourage you to schedule a discovery call to discuss your business's specific needs to get a customized proposal.
  • My bookkeeping is too much of a mess, can you do anything for me?"
However big you think your mess is, chances are I've seen and cleaned up bigger ones. I have experience in getting financial transactions organized and caught-up after months or even years have gone by. Everything is fixable.
  • Taxes are coming due. Can you get me ready?
Yes. Of course, if you are close to the deadline, there may be a rush fee. Let's have a chat.
  • What about confidentiality?
Your company’s financials are a private matter and are treated with the utmost care. Our full confidentiality policy will be detailed in your service agreement.
  • If I have questions or concerns, will I be able to reach someone?"
I am very responsive to emails as my preferred communication method. You will also have access to my calendar so you can schedule a time to talk. Your questions and concerns will be dealt with in a timely manner.
