Meet the OWNER
Hey there! My name is Janine Hamilton. After two years of being an on-the-road tax consultant and bookkeeper, I am switching gears. With the experience gained, I found a love for helping people and satisfaction with organizing books. I decided to get off the road and start my own virtual bookkeeping company, partially to get with the times, but mostly so I could have a deeper relationship with my clients. I wanted to provide better service so I can help their businesses grow.
Besides the two years of in-field tax preparation and bookkeeping experience, I have been certified through Bookkeeper Launch and as a Pro Advisor through QuickBooks Online.
My Story
I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere in central Saskatchewan. For as long as can remember I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit. From when I was little and would raid the pantry and force my parents to buy their groceries back from me, to the various businesses I started after graduating. I made jewellery and sold it at craft sales. I grew microgreens in my basement and sold them at the Regina Farmers Market (I highly recommend going if you're in the area). I even started beekeeping and selling honey, which I still love and do! With each new venture, I began to learn the difference between a hobby and a career.
I had to sit down with myself and figure out what I valued and what I wanted out of life. I knew that whatever I did had to help others and I wanted to have a positive impact on people's lives. I also knew that I needed to do something that could create flexibility in my life so I could raise a family and be there for my friends and family when they needed help. It became obvious, with my training, background, and advances in today's technology, that in order for me to become successful, I had to help others to become successful and so Green Leaf Bookkeeping & Consulting was born.
I currently reside in Saskatoon with my fiance. Besides bookkeeping & beekeeping, my time is spent walking around the river trails, going out to support local bands (my fiance is a drummer and that's how we met), or watching comedies with my step-daughter and brother.
Life's pretty darn good!!
